PEACE amongst CHAOS
A four week (10 hour) course to empower co-parents with skills to solve their own problems
Week One: Assessing, Accepting and Adjusting: Preparing to meet the Challenges of Co-Parenting. This session is all about evaluating and looking at the whole picture, assessing, needs, patterns, resources in order to create a clear new intention and family vision. Setting the tone, intention, and energy for allowing the family to move into a new way of being.
Week Two: Pathway to empowerment: A healthy you makes a healthy co-parent. In this session we will discuss the importance of owning your choices with compassion and awareness as well as creating a plan for self-care and support.
Week Three: Understanding your childrens’ needs: Recognizing the feedback. This session focuses on child developmental stages and needs as well as child responses to divorce and parental conflict.
Week Four: From parents to co-parents: Building skills with your child in mind. Adjusting to the different boundaries and functions of co-parenting. Creating a new way of relating and tailoring the options for making things work.
Course presented by Christy Carter
Christy brings a wealth of background, education, and experience to the Co-Parenting Education Program, and has been working in the conflict resolution and human relations field for over 16 years. Christy is on the Utah State Domestic Mediation Roster, currently working in several Utah counties as a divorce and custody mediator. She is also, a Certified NLP Life Coach, and Certified Personal Relations Trainer and Facilitator.
Christy is a genuine person filled with high energy and leads a very active life. Her most cherished and vested interest is her role as mother of eight wonderfully unique children that have taught her so much of what she has to offer today. She is also currently pursuing her degree at Utah Valley University in Psychology, with a Peace & Justice Minor.
